Over the years, Edwardsville Boys Basketball Teams have won 33 Regional Titles, 9 Sectional Titles, 5 Super Sectional Titles, and has been a Team Qualifier for the State Finals 7 times. In 2012 The Girls basketball team placed 2nd in Class 4A State Finals and the boys team won the Regional and Sectional Title and is competing in the Super Sectional. In 2013 the boys placed 3rd the Class 4A State Championship and ended the season with a 31-3 overall record (New School Record)

Edwardsville is one of the founding members of the Southwestern Conference. The foundation of the current conference can be traced back to 1923-24 when the Southwest Conference was formed. The conference was dissolved and reformed in 1934-35 as the Madison-St. Clair Conference. The conference was renamed the Southwestern Conference in 1937-38. Current conference members include: Alton, Belleville East, Belleville West, East St. Louis, Edwardsville, Granite City, and O’Fallon.
Edwardsville left the Southwestern Conference in 1979 for a period of 17 years. The Tigers rejoined the conference in 1996. The Tigers won two varsity league titles that first year back, and since then, they have won 13 of the last 15 and the past eleven in a row All Sports trophies in the conference.
